A Dynamic Exploration of Movement, Energy, and Light
A compelling new exhibition from Natalie Webb titled Tempo unveils a collection of 19 original paintings that examine the pace and rhythm of human activity. Through expressive movement and layered brushstrokes, Tempo invites viewers to reflect on how motion, both physical and emotional, shapes our daily lives.
Inspired by the elemental forces of earth, air, fire, and water, Natalie has spent years developing a visual language rooted in nature’s energy systems.

This latest body of work places particular focus on fire and air, capturing their intensity, fluidity, and transformative power. These elements serve as metaphors for momentum, change, and the unseen forces that drive human behaviour.
The artist is ambidextrous and paints with both hands simultaneously, a rare practice that directly informs the energy and balance within each composition. This dual-handed technique allows for a more instinctive and immediate translation of movement onto canvas, reinforcing the exhibition’s exploration of tempo and rhythm.
Executed in acrylic and metallic paints on canvas, each piece is a study in light, reflection, and movement. The artist’s distinctive use of metallics creates surfaces that shift and evolve depending on the time of day and the viewer’s perspective. As light interacts with each painting, subtle changes emerge, mirroring the constant flux of tempo in both nature and human experience. The exhibition offers an immersive visual journey where stillness and motion coexist. Bold gestures, luminous textures, and atmospheric compositions evoke the sensation of energy in motion, encouraging viewers to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the rhythms around them. Tempo is not only a celebration of artistic expression but also an invitation to consider how pace influences perception, how we move through the world, and how the world moves through us.
