Some Masterchef Sh*t”

G&J Productions brings audiences a darkly hilarious and unexpectedly tender xploration of human connection with “Some Masterchef Sh*t,” running at VAULT Creative Arts’ The Glitch, following critically- acclaimed runs in Manchester in 2024 and at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025.

Written by Liam High and starring George Miller and Harry Freeman, this provocative dark comedy takes audiences on an unpredictable journey that begins in the familiar territory of online dating and spirals into something far more complex and shocking.

Under the direction of James Cave, the production uses a queer lens to reimagine one of modern history’s most disturbing crimes, balancing the dark subject matter with moments of genuine humour and tenderness. The intimate two-hander format allows the actors to create a raw, authentic dynamic that keeps audiences engaged throughout the 60-minute performance.

The story follows two men who meet in the dark corners of the internet before connecting in a coffee shop. What starts as an ordinary encounter between strangers becomes an extraordinary exploration of masculinity, mental health, and human desperation. As the characters get to know each other, audiences will think they know where the story is heading – but this bold production consistently defies expectations.

“Some Masterchef Sh*t literally eats taboo for dinner,” explains writer Liam High. “We’re taking something shocking and using it to examine how men, in particular queer men, can struggle to exist in the modern world. It’s about connection, isolation, and the lengths people go to to feel alive.”
