CHARLTON Athletic boss Nathan Jones is happy with the club’s transfer business so far as they take a “patient” approach in the current window.
The Addicks have signed defenders Ivan Mesik and Billy Koumetio and forward Karlan Grant on permanent deals this summer.
Charlton offered striker Lyndon Dykes a contract after the end of the season, but the 30-year-old Scotland International has since been on trial with Bristol City as he weighs up his options.
“We’re in a decent place,” Jones said on BBC Sport London. “This is a patient window. We have the nucleus of a really good squad, but what we need to add is a bit more flair, a bit more quality and zest in one-v-one areas and at the top end of the squad.
“That takes a bit more time to get in, but we’re confident that when the Championship starts we’ll have everyone that we plan to sign.
“Lyndon is someone we’ve had, and we like. At the minute we have six strikers, so something will need to change there if we’re going to bring in another one.
“We are on top of all contacts. We are not pressured by anything or anyone.”
Meanwhile, Jones gave an update on Rob Apter after the 23-year-old winger missed the 1-0 friendly win at Gillingham last weekend.
“We’re hoping it is not too long,” Jones said on South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition. “It is just a bit of bone bruising in his knee. It hasn’t been an impact thing, it’s just the work done in pre-season and the off-season. He worked really hard to get back.
“Once he has come back into pre-season it is the hard grounds and the volume of work that we’ve put into them. He’s just had a little flare-up, so we’ve got to let that settle down.”
