The estate is bringing the French Riviera to the Thames

St Katharine Docks celebrates National Oyster Day on Wednesday 5 August with The Melusine’s pop-up Oyster Shack on Marble Quay. From 1:00 pm until 7pm (or until stocks last), guests can embark on a European oyster tasting journey featuring six exceptional oysters, each selected for its distinctive character and provenance.

Purchase individual oysters or opt for The Melusine Oyster Passport at £27 to taste all six in one sitting. You’ll journey across six oyster-producing regions – Carlingford (Ireland), Jersey Rock (Channel Islands), Maldon (England), and three French classics: Céline, Sentinelle, and Fine de Claire. Available at both the Oyster Shack and The Melusine Restaurant, you’ll discover each oyster’s unique flavour profile and vote for your favourite to crown The Melusine People’s Choice Oyster 2026.

Every oyster comes with The Melusine’s signature Bloody Mary sauce, created especially for the occasion.

To celebrate further, diners can win a dozen oysters a month for an entire year! Simply snap your best oyster moment, tag @themelusine_skd, use #TheMelusine #bestoysterface #oysterday, and you’re in the draw.

The pop up forms part of St Katharine Docks’ broader summer activation, where the estate is bringing the French Riviera to the Thames. Think alfresco dining and sun loungers along the waterside, paired with bold floral installations that burst into colour as the season kicks in.

The Melusine has built a reputation for serious seafood done without pretension. The pop-up oyster shack extends that – accessible, honest, and delicious.

The summer install at St Katharine Docks runs through August, with the marina hosting its full calendar of cultural programming including its floating jazz club and a calendar of dining and lifestyle activations.
