St Katharine Docks closes out the summer season in style this August Bank Holiday weekend with the St Kat’s Jazz Festival. Three days of live jazz (Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August) with free entry for all, food and drinks across the estate, and over 15 world-class musicians performing on Marble Quay.
It’s deliberately accessible. By moving the popular jazz sessions to Marble Quay with free entry, there’s no barrier to simply wandering down, catching a few sets, grabbing a drink, and staying longer than you planned. It’s jazz for everyone, not just ticket-holders.
The lineup reads like a roll-call of serious talent with artists flying in from across the globe. Confirmed to date we have the brilliant Olivia Swann (artist in residence), Jamie Safir, Ian Shaw (Britain’s most respected jazz voice), Inés Nassara flying in from Brooklyn, Wura Abimbola, Fraser Urquhart, Emmanuel Ayeni, Ewan Hastie, Louise Balkwill, Angie Pastor, Noah Stoneman, Mike Harrison, and more to be announced.
After months of programming, careful curation, and meticulous commitment to the craft of jazz, the result is a one-of-a-kind festival with old favourites and new releases perfectly arranged by each artist.
The waterside setting does the rest, with Marble Quay overlooking the marina basin, yachts in the background, and light shifting across the water as evening sets in. Three days where the entire estate transforms into a festival-sized jazz celebration without losing the intimate, sophisticated atmosphere that’s defined St Kat’s Sessions all summer.
Partnership with Nyetimber and Opihr Gin means the bar is serving iconic British brands all weekend. And food and drinks across the estate allow visitors to make a day of it over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
