Officers are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a pedestrian was seriously injured in Plumstead.

Police said were called shortly before 6pm yesterday (Sunday, 11 June) “to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Plumstead Common Road.”

A man, in his 50s, was found with a head injury. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

His family have been informed and the driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs. Police said he remains in custody at south London police station.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for any witnesses, or drivers with dash cam footage, to come forward.

Anyone who can help the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5857/11Jun.
