Visitors to Camberwell Grove will discover a rose-laden “romantic country style garden”, offering stunning views of St Giles Church.

In Dulwich Village, visitors are invited to two Georgian houses backing onto Dulwich Park, where they’ll find “spectacular gardens… beautifully planted with an abundance of colour”.

Southwark Open Gardens will take place on June 4 and money raised will go to St Christopher’s – a charitable hospice with sites across south London.

Dulwich Village garden owner Ann Rutherford said: “We have been opening our gardens for St Christopher’s Hospice for over 25 years and love to welcome visitors year after year as well as those new to our garden openings.

“We are looking forward to a great afternoon on Sunday 4th June. Please do join us in raising funds for our local hospice.”

The two Dulwich gardens, at 103 to 105 Dulwich Village, will be open from 2pm to 5pm.

St Christopher’s Hospice wrote online: “These two gardens are both beautifully planted with an abundance of colour and interest.

“There is so much to see in both gardens – a lily pond, waterfall and an ancient mulberry tree – a haven for wildlife and a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”

Entry is £10, free for children, and includes tea, coffee or a cold drink. There will also be a plant sale.

The garden at 35 Camberwell Grove will open to the public from 2pm to 7pm. Entry is £3.50.

Its owner, who has been gardening for two decades, has packed the the 2,400 square foot grounds with an abundance of roses and other plants.

The charity is partially funded by the NHS but the majority of costs are met by public donations – which amount to roughly £15 million each year.
