A man has been violently assaulted in Burgess Park prompting an urgent police appeal to identify the victim.
Police were called to the park at 6.55am this morning (Friday, June 2) following reports that a man had been injured.
Responding officers discovered a man suffering from serious head injuries. He was taken to a south London hospital.
Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the victim, and have asked witnesses to the incident to step forward.
The victim is believed to be aged in his 30s, has dark hair, and is possibly of south American descent.
Police are still waiting for an update on the man’s condition.
Detective Sergeant Tom Dunn, of the Met’s Central South Command, said: “We are very keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed the incident that caused the victim to be injured, or anyone who thinks they know who he is.
“He is believed to be aged 30s, with dark hair, possibly of south American descent. If you can help please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
