London Eye to light up green to mark six years since Grenfell Tower Fire

To mark six years since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, which saw 72 people lose their lives, the London Eye will light up green tonight in memory of everyone affected.

Tonight (June 14), from sunset (9:18 pm) until sunrise (4:42 am) the Eye will be illuminated in green ‘in memory of those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire’.

On June 14, 2017, the Grenfell Tower fire in North Kensington, claimed the lives of 72 people and devastated the community. The anniversary holds profound significance as it represents an opportunity for reflection, remembrance, and solidarity with those affected.

The Eye is joining other iconic landmarks across London to mark the anniversary of the disaster.

Speaking on the commemoration, Imran Tauqir, General Manager of the London Eye, said: “We are proud to be illuminating in green and joining landmarks across London in memory of those affected by the Grenfell fire.

“We stand in solidarity with the Grenfell community and hope that in remembering those we have lost we can come together to build a better future.”
