ROMELU Lukaku has just over a week to sort out his anticipated exit from Stamford Bridge as the transfer deadline looms next Friday.
Mauricio Pochettino has made it crystal clear the striker is not part of his plans, the Daily Telegraph even claiming the duo are yet to exchange words as Lukaku is banished to training with the U21s.
The Belgian striker’s best hopes of ending a nightmare second spell with the Blues lie in Italy, with Juventus rumoured to be keen to land the 30-year-old with Dusan Vlahovic potentially heading in the opposite direction.
But so far neither club has been able to agree on a deal despite Juve reportedly having made two attempts to get the switch done.
Chelsea are currently closing in on a potential £14million deal for New England revolution keeper Djordje Petrovic.
The Serbian will provide competition to Robert Sanchez following the earlier departures of Edourd Mendy and Kepa.
Meanwhile, highly-rated teenager Lewis Hall has quit Stamford Bridge to join Newcastle United on loan for the rest of the season.
The defender is expected to make the move permanent next summer and that will cost Eddie Howe’s side £28m with another potential £7m to come Chelsea’s way if various add-on clauses are met.
Hall said: “To now be here at Newcastle, the club that I’ve supported since I was a kid, I’m honoured and very proud to wear this shirt.
“Me and my family are Newcastle fans, and for me and my brother growing up it was drilled into us that we were Newcastle.
“It’s a big club and I can’t wait to get started.”
Chelsea are back in action at Stamford Bridge on Friday evening for a televised encounter with newly-promoted Luton Town.
