Nancy Brabin Platt’s Life’s a Drag is a fun and heartfelt drag play that follows Maxine, an awkward Queer teenager, as she wrestles with her identity.

Facing misogyny from the queer scene and homophobia from everyone else, Max is reliant on a dissociative identity that she has created, a tell-it-like-it-is Drag Diva.

Will the Diva be able to save the love of Max’s life and salvage her fractured family relationship… or will Max’s two worlds collide tearing her apart.

“Do you seriously think drag is just wearing women’s clothes?”

Nancy Brabin Platt is an actor, writer and drag performer. She has worked as a drag performer for over three years and has set up her own monthly event at The Glory in East London, which serves to uplift female, trans and non-binary performers, Plattapussys Playhouse. She has recently returned from a tour of As You Like It with Northern Broadsides and has just starred in a queer retelling of the 1990’s play Never Swim Alone at the Omnibus Theatre.

Lois Brabin Platt is an award winning film director, winning best Female Film at IndieX Film Festival, Vegas Movie Awards and Independent Shorts Awards, as well as receiving an Honoured Film Maker Award at One Reeler Shorts and an official selection at both Melbourne and Sydney’s Lift Off Festival for her first short EB & FLO. Life’s a Drag is Lois’ theatre directorial debut, after it made its first appearance on the scene at Theatre Peckham as part of their Fringe Festival.
