FULHAM youngster Ibane Bowat is out to make the most of his loan with Austrian outfit TSV Hartberg.
The central defender spent the second half of last season with Dutch club Den Bosch and is currently gaining more continental experience at Hartberg.
Bowat penned a two-year contract extension with Marco Silva’s side before heading to Austria and is looking to impress before returning to Craven Cottage next summer.
The Scotland U21 international told the Glasgow Herald: “At Fulham, Tim Ream plays in my position and I have been lucky enough to train with him.
“I have watched him play a lot. Tosin Adarabioyo is a great player too.
“And when you train against players like Willian – who I used to watch when I was younger – is a great experience, as was marking Aleksandar Mitrovic in training when he was at the club.
“I’m still young and I have learned a lot from training with these guys.
“My aim is to have a good season in Austria, get as many minutes as possible and improve and then I will see where I am this time next year.
“I just need to keep my head down and focus on my football.”
Bowat is currently learning German and is clearly determined to enjoy living in his new surroundings.
However, the long-term future remains firmly at Craven Cottage for the young defender.
He added: “I’ve just signed a new two-year deal with an option for a third.
“Being part of a Premier League team is fantastic for me and Fulham have always treated me very well. It’s a family club.
“I just thought that extending my contract and then going out on loan abroad again would be the right step for me.”
