New immersive cocktail bar experience comes to London Bridge – beyond barbed wire, prison cameras and patrolling guards, drinkers go to jail at Slammers

The London Bridge Experience has launched a new immersive cocktail bar experience – set in a prison.

Tucked beneath London Bridge, drinkers will find a bar behind bars. Convicts, we mean customers, will be greeted by prison wardens or prisoners and taken to tables for cocktails.

You’ll be able to taste the “Smooth Criminal”, “Death Sentence” and “Old Smokey”.

Mixologists will be shaking or stirring your drinks behind security screens, while prison guards patrol ready to take your orders. With authentic cells, tables with handcuffs and its own electric chair, Slammers will have you all chained up.

Jim Gallivan, general manager of Slammers, said: “London Bridge is crying out for an immersive cocktail bar like this, we have loads of original exciting ideas to introduce in the future.

“The prison is set in Lake Havasu Penitentiary as Lake Havasu is where the original London Bridge was moved to in 1968, so this seemed fitting.

“We are hoping Slammers becomes a ‘must do’ for Londoners and those visiting our capital city from across the UK.”
