JORDAN Ayew and Sam Johnstone have committed their futures to Crystal Palace by penning contract extensions.

Keeper Johnstone will stay in SE25 until at least 2027, while attacker Ayew has signed on the dotted line until 2025.

England international Johnstone joined the Eagles last year from West Brom and wants to make the number one shirt his own in the years ahead.

He said: “I’m really happy to sign a new contract at Palace.

“I feel at home here, and I love playing for this club and in front of our fans.

“I’m looking forward to helping push the club forward and hopefully finishing higher up the table, playing as many games as possible for Palace in the years to come.”

Ayew has already spent five years with Palace having signed from Swansea in 2018 and the Ghana skipper singled out the Selhurst faithful as a big factor in his decision to sign the new deal.

He said: “Everything about Crystal Palace is special, the fans especially. They are our 12th man.

“There isn’t a fanbase as passionate and supportive as ours in the league – you are always with us from the first minute until the end.

“I hope I can help the club push on up the league.

“We have a good squad and the belief to achieve something special.

“I will be giving 100 percent every week to make sure we go on a good run and start climbing the table.”

Palace chairman Steve Parish welcomed the duo’s decision to remain at the club and explained why they had been offered new terms.

He said: “Jordan is a fantastic professional on and off the pitch.

“His efforts are never less than 100 percent and as a result, he provides an outstanding example to his team-mates day in, day out.”

Parish added: “I’m absolutely delighted that Sam has committed his long-term future to Crystal Palace, and I know I won’t be alone in that.

“Since winning a place in Palace’s starting XI with his efforts in training and taking his chance when it came, Sam’s performances have been consistently excellent.

“He has established himself as one of the top goalkeepers both in the Premier League and on the international stage.

“It’s fantastic that he will remain at Palace for an extended period.”
