More food and drink news in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe…
Pizarro
Pizarro Bermondsey is José Pizarro’s second London restaurant. Found one block away from José’s original tapas bar on our beloved Bermondsey Street.
The restaurant serves a menu of small tapas style and more substantial dishes, featuring José’s signature tapas dishes – such as croquetas and spicy prawn fritters – as well as Spanish classics such as cuttlefish a la plancha and ox cheek rice.
The bar offers a great selection of sherries and Spanish wines, Spanish-style gin tónicas and cocktails.
Window seats overlooking the church of St Mary Magdalen and the bar area with communal tables are the perfect place to enjoy a drink and tapas all day long.

Yoyo’s Desserts
For those with a sweet tooth, who are always looking for a new dessert spot, Yoyo’s Desserts is a new spot down The Blue for just that.
They serve everything from waffles stuffed with your favourite flavour, to crepes, milkshakes, sundaes, cookie dough and pancakes.
But the star of the menu has to be the croffles – croissant waffles. The waffled croissants are then topped with chocolate sauces, fruits, Lotus Biscoff or Oreo.

Longboys
Borough Yards welcomed the biggest Longboys yet last October to deliver high-end doughnuts to SE1.
Pastry chef Graham Hornigold’s patisserie expertise has resulted in an Éclair-doughnut hybrid and is currently the first and only dedicated finger doughnut brand in London.
All doughnuts are hand-rolled fresh, every day in small batches, to create a light brioche base filled with compotes, fillings, glazes and toppings, all carefully curated in-house.
With a new site opened in Liverpool Street as well, Graham Hornigold says: “We want as many people as possible to enjoy our doughnuts, they’re the real deal. With more sites means more opportunity. We’d love to introduce new products and offer an interactive element to our customers in the future, watch this space.”

La Criolla serves up Uruguayan/Argentinian style artisan empanadas with fillings of beef, chicken, ham, veggie – and even some sweet options.
They also have a tuna Galician empanada, which is a typical pie from Galicia in the North West of Spain.
