V&L Productions present a new adaptation by Liz Love of Charles Dickens’ classic novel Great Expectations, a story of how relationships form and define us and of the expectations we have of life, and ultimately how blind those ambitions can make us.
Here we meet Pip, a pilot in the Second World War, finding himself back at the crumbling Satis House, a place of deep love and tragedy for him.
As Pip takes us through his childhood in the marsh country and early adulthood in London, he is unsparing, recognising the mistakes of his past and charting his redemption through love and suffering.

Molly Hockham, Rachael Sparkes
This new adaptation centres on the key relationships in his life – the kindly and dignified Joe and Biddy, the damaged and proud Estella, the rough but caring Magwitch and the tragic Miss Havisham.
Pip: Reece Lewis: Abel Magwitch, Mr Jaggers & Compeyson: Vince Mathews; Joe Gargery, Bentley Drummle: Aryan Chavda; Miss Havisham, Mrs Joe: Caroline Edwards; Estella: Rachael Sparkes; Biddy: Molly Hockham.
