The Wall of Pain

December 2021. Against the backdrop of the challenging Christmas season, marked by the ongoing pandemic, the female family home gazes upon the looming walls of HMP Pentonville.

A teenage girl pines over a phone that never rings as she waits for her father to reach out with his one daily call from the prison opposite their family home.  When this never comes, the family are left to speculate at what’s really happened behind Her Majesty’s walls.

In The Shadow Of Her Majesty offers a thought-provoking perspective on the justice system through the eyes of women on the outside, some have suffered violence and harassment, and others have loving ties to the men behind the walls they see every day.

Join us on a journey of resilience and empowerment as this family of women – daughters, sisters, mothers and auntie – navigate a landscape coloured by past grievances. In The Shadow Of Her Majesty is a powerful examination of forgiveness, redemption, and the enduring power of the human spirit.
