Nearly 200 Local Children Take to the Stage
South London’s young stars are preparing to light up the stage at Peckham Theatre on Sunday 5 July as Musical Mayhem London CIC presents its annual Summer Showcase.
With three performances, audiences will be treated to an uplifting celebration of singing, dancing and musical theatre, featuring nearly 200 children aged from 3 years to 18 years.
The showcase features songs and performances inspired by hit musicals including Wicked, Shrek and Bring It On, giving every child the opportunity to shine on stage after months of rehearsals.

Musical Mayhem London CIC is a South London Community Interest Company dedicated to helping children develop confidence, creativity and lifelong friendships through the performing arts. Every child is given the opportunity to perform, regardless of experience, with all profits reinvested into the community, including bursary places for families who may otherwise be unable to access performing arts.
Founder and Executive Director Lyndsey Rogerson said: “Our performances are about so much more than putting on a great show. They’re about giving every child a place where they belong, where they can build confidence, make friends and discover what they’re capable of. Seeing children step onto the stage with smiles on their faces makes every hour of rehearsal worthwhile.”
What the parents say: ”First and foremost, it’s been an incredible personal journey for Zach. Musical Mayhem has helped him become so much more creative and has brought out the very best in him. He absolutely loves coming every week, and the team has supported him every step of the way. We couldn’t ask for more.”
“Musical Mayhem has been amazing for my two daughters. They’ve both really thrived here. They love the creativity, the friendships and everything Musical Mayhem has to offer. The shows are always fantastic, and it’s been wonderful watching their confidence grow.”
“We use the Musical Mayhem bursary fund for our three children, who all attend different classes. Every single one of them absolutely loves coming. They’ve all grown in confidence, and we’ve really noticed the difference, not just at Musical Mayhem, but when they take part in school plays and in their everyday lives too. We’re so grateful for everything Musical Mayhem has done for our family.”
