A search for the diva within
Written and performed by queer international musical comedian and TikTok sensation Alexis Sakellaris, A Stan is Born! is an original musical comedy exploring a young person’s obsession with pop divas and the search for the diva within.
Following a successful run at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the show returns to London with performances at The Other Palace Studio (15-17 January) and Seven Dials Playhouse (10-12 February), before heading to Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Featuring 10 original songs, the show follows Alexis’ drastic move from New York City to rural Germany, where pop divas – Céline, Whitney, Mariah, Beyoncé, Gaga, Aretha – become their only salvation. A true Stan story, packed with camp humour, cultural clashes, and heartfelt moments.
