Saff’s best friend is being slandered online. Meanwhile, Oli is being blackmailed by a mysterious stalker. They’re both about to learn that vengeance is far wilder and bloodier than they bargained for. Dickless is a dark and shocking tale exploring gender and societal roles featuring a headless cat, bizarre sexual conquests, and girls behaving monstrously – just another night in Dunningham!
Dickless, written by Aisha Josiah and directed by Emily Aboud, is a one-woman show about sex, revenge, and the social mores we both inherit and create. Through the eyes of two characters -Saff and Oli – both portrayed by Rosalind – we witness a wild night of rumour, seduction, blackmail and violence as Saff and Oli learn unexpected lessons about gender, sexuality, and revenge.
Winner of the Peter Shaffer Award, Dickless is a gripping exploration of gender identity and societal roles, both chosen and imposed. Dickless was first performed at the LaMama Theatre Club in New York City and has since been performed at multiple theatres in the United States, as well as at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017. Dickless now arrives at Riverside Studios for its London debut.
Dickless is staged at Riverside Studios as part of Bitesize Festival 2024. Bitesize Festival is a 4 week-long festival celebrating all things new. It returns this January – February for its fourth year.
Through the festival, Riverside Studios provides an opportunity to stage inspiring and innovative new theatre and a chance for live performance-makers to showcase their work.
