Meet the Kids is an original coming-of-age drama written and produced by Desiri Okobia, and follows the lives of four South London teenagers as they navigate identity, faith, grief, friendship and the challenges of growing up in a world that often tries to silence them.
Through humour, honesty and powerful storytelling, the production explores the realities facing young people today while creating space for conversations around belonging, resilience, family and finding your voice. Meet the Kids has grown from its South London beginnings into a production that continues to connect with audiences across London.

The recent London run attracted audiences from across the arts, education and public sectors, including notable figures from politics, education and the creative industries, including David Lammy and Nathaniel Price.
Speaking about the production, creator Desiri Okobia said: “Meet the Kids was created to give young people a voice and to tell stories that are often overlooked. Seeing audiences connect with these characters and their journeys has been incredibly encouraging, and I am excited to bring the production to Greenwich Theatre.”
The production’s transfer marks the next stage in the play’s journey, bringing its message of hope, identity and empowerment to new audiences.
