A week-long exhibition by artist-led platform, No Place Art, brings together a diverse programme of work, including Materiality Live, a two night only immersive exploration of the relationship between sound and visual art. Multidisciplinary artist and experimental musician Jake Andrews brings to life performances from international pianists Teodor Doré and Jay Verma on night one, and London based pianists, Karim Kamar and Camden Stewart known for their viral videos at London’s Kings Cross station perform on night two.
The event showcases 119 artworks by more than 90 contemporary artists spanning painting, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media; handpicked by seven eminent figures in the art world, alongside an additional 12 guest artists.
Aiming to challenge the conventional gallery model the showcase turns exhibitions into genuine career launchpads, creating pathways that can continue to shape their careers long after the exhibition closes. Materiality Live, brings two intimate dedicated nights of piano performances to the main exhibition on 22 and 23 September 2026.
Bringing the concept of materiality to life through the collision of music, painting and synaesthesia, multidisciplinary artist Jake Andrew will paint live in response to the music, translating classical, jazz and operatic performances into colour, texture and form on canvas in real time.
The live event acts as a dynamic draw for a broader showcase selected from over 549 artists and 1,200 international artwork submissions. While the overarching exhibition champions over 90 artists with 61 career-changing awards, Materiality Live pushes the boundaries further, transforming live classical, jazz, and operatic music into physical artworks in real time.
