Shakespeare in the Squares opens its inaugural winter season, presenting an all-new production of Macbeth infused with wicked music and devilishly good tunes. The tour runs from 7th to 30th November with over 20 performances in indoor venues across London.

Founded in 2016, Shakespeare in the Squares is renowned for its annual tradition of bringing Shakespearean classics to London’s garden spaces each summer and has established itself as a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar. In response to popular demand, the company has now launched a winter season for the first time. Macbeth will be Shakespeare in the Squares’ eighth production.

Shakespeare in the Squares is a not-for-profit touring theatre company that stages a Shakespeare play in London garden squares and open spaces for one night in each venue every summer and, for the first time ever in 2024, in churches during the winter. The productions are tailored to the individual spaces, and the company works with the committees and other local organisations to create a unique community celebration around the play.

Sioned Jones directs. She is an actress and theatre-maker and has previously performed in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and directed All’s Well That Ends Well for the company.

The Cast: Gavin Molloy plays Macbeth / Captain / Murderer; Cathy Walker plays Lady Macbeth / Banquo / Macduff Junior / Siward; Molly Walker plays Ross / Fortune Teller / Lady Macduff / Seyton; Sam D’Leon plays Duncan / Fortune Teller / MacDuff / Doctor / Lord / Murderer; Mohab Kaddah plays Malcolm / Fortune Teller / Murderer / Messenger / Banquo’s ghost.
