Much music to keep warm to is heading to London once the heatwaves are gone. Hitting the road will be Maze with a gig in Manchester on Saturday 6th September, then London, Eventim Apollo on the 7th.
Gilbert O’Sullivan starts his tour, on the back of a new album – On The Record – out this month.
Since releasing his first music in 1967 Gilbert has achieved 16 Top 40 records, including his breakthrough release in 1970 with Nothing Rhymed, six No. 1 songs, and timeless classics such as Clair, Get Down, and Alone Again (Naturally) – the latter topping the US charts for six weeks and earning him three Grammy nominations. Across his career he has released 20 studio albums and received three Ivor Novello Awards, including Songwriter of the Year in 1973. His last three album releases have also achieved Top 10, Top 20 and Top 30 positions in the UK album charts.
Now celebrating sixty years in music, Gilbert continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Joined by acclaimed guitarist Bill Shanley, these shows promise an intimate evening of unforgettable songs from one of music’s most distinctive voices.

Hue and Cry kick off in October in Manchester, sharing the bill with Roachford.
The duo released Everybody, their 16th album, earlier this year. A bold new chapter in a creative journey that began at the dawn of electronic pop.Hue And Cry are one of the 1980s’ most formative soul pop groups with a string of chart friendly hits, including ‘Labour of Love’ and ‘Looking for Linda’ . On Everybody the duo takes a new turn in a decades-long exploration of creative possibilities.
Everybody is the result of the duo sitting with analogue/digital music tech – DeepMind arpeggiators, hydrasynths, wavetables, classic drum machines – and allowing songs to emerge out of the electronic landscape around them. Squeeze will be joined by Billy Bragg on their Tried, Tested and Trixies tour.
Currently touring America, the SE Londoners will be back to start the UK leg of their world tour in November.
They recently opened series 68 of ‘Later… with Jools Holland’, with three songs, and Jools joining them on Take Me I’m Yours, the first time he has played with his old band for 36 years.
