These relationships are not always easy on the eye

Tension presents Tension Wave / Colour / Turbulence, curated by Laurence Noga & Ben Gooding, an exhibition that will examine how the artists in the exhibition build a relationship between systems of movement, harmonic structure, or turbulent interactions of vibration and substance.
Allowing colour its interaction and deception. The show aims to look at variations of surface and colour temperature. These relationships are not always easy on the eye.

They often explore turbulent junctions between the different parts of the work, leaving the paint unable to coagulate or using blurred or distorted systems of presentation.
This systemisation of the structure, or its comprehension, often cuts across boundaries, activating certain memories in relation to visual vibration or after image. This exquisite combination of the physical and spatial allows the work to pulsate, expand, or contract. Not only through proximity of colour, but how each of the artists orchestrate that optical flicker.
