Featured on Saatchi Art’s “Undiscovered Artists to Know” list

London-based abstract artist Courtenay Kusitor presents Unconscious / Conscious / Aligned, her first solo exhibition at the Grade II listed Carnegie Library Hub in Herne Hill.

Working intuitively with bold colour, layered textures and expressive mark-making, Kusitor creates abstract compositions that translate internal states into visual form. Her practice is informed by years of self-directed learning across self-help, philosophy, psychology and neuroscience – themes that underpin the work.

Rather than presenting the exhibition in a central London gallery, Kusitor chose the historic Carnegie Library. This setting reflects not only her commitment to community but also the integral role literature plays in her practice. Kusitor’s work is deeply informed by listening to audiobooks whilst creating, making the library a natural and meaningful space for the show.

Courtenay Kusitor is a London-based abstract artist whose work explores consciousness, presence and living in the present moment. In 2023 she was featured on Saatchi Art’s “Undiscovered Artists to Know” list, and her work has received words of encouragement from Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Jerry Saltz. You are warmly invited to experience this new body of work at her first solo exhibition.

Carnegie Library Hub, 192 Herne Hill Road, SE24 0DG from 18–20 April 2026.
