Boy, 16, injured after Brixton shooting

A sixteen-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after reports of a shooting in Brixton.

Police were called to Fairmount Road at 9.45pm on Wednesday, October 11, following reports of a shooting. 

Met Police officers, including specialist firearms officers, found the victim at a residential address suffering from a gunshot wound. 

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to a South London hospital where his condition was deemed non-life-threatening. 

Detectives from Central South Command have launched an investigation.

At this stage, there have been no arrests.

Detective Constable Nick Fletcher said: “This could easily be a murder investigation. The victim of this shooting, a 16-year-old boy, has suffered a serious injury but is now in a stable condition in hospital.

“I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the Fairmount Road area on Wednesday evening.”
