Broomwood has celebrated the opening of a third pre-school room at its Pre-Prep in Clapham, creating additional places for young children and marking an exciting new chapter for the school’s early-years provision.
The new room welcomed its first children at the beginning of the new academic year and has been introduced in response to growing demand from families for places at Broomwood Pre-School.
Based at Broomwood Pre-Prep in south-west London, the Pre-School provides children with their first introduction to life at Broomwood, combining purposeful play, exploration and creativity with the routines and relationships that help young children develop confidence and independence.
The opening of the third room represents a significant investment in Broomwood’s early-years provision and will enable more families to become part of the school community from the very beginning of their child’s educational journey.
Caron Mackay, Head of Broomwood Pre-Prep, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to open our third Pre-School room and to welcome our new children and families to Broomwood.
‘The early years are such an important and exciting stage in a child’s development. Our aim is to create an environment where children feel happy, secure and excited to learn; where they can explore, ask questions, build friendships and begin to develop the confidence that will support them throughout their education.
‘Seeing our Pre-School continue to grow is incredibly exciting and reflects the wonderful community that has developed here. We are very proud that even more children will now be able to start their Broomwood journey with us.’
Jonny Allams, from Space to Play, said: ‘The new room is designed to spark imaginative learning and a love of being at school, giving children an adventurous, nature-inspired environment to explore. From a tower and a den to nooks, platforms and peek-a-boo windows, the adaptable spaces are carefully connected to encourage playful collaboration, communication and creativity.’
The opening comes at an exciting time for Broomwood following a year of record-breaking achievement and national recognition.
Broomwood pupils secured a record-breaking 49 scholarships to leading senior schools, with awards spanning academics, sport, music, drama and art. Nearly half were awarded for academic excellence, while pupils secured places at an impressive range of London day and boarding schools, including Alleyn’s, JAGS, Whitgift and Brighton College.
The school was also named Best Independent Preparatory School in London at the Private Education Awards 2026, retaining the title for a second consecutive year. Broomwood was also included in Talk Education’s Top 250 list of leading independent schools across the UK and nominated in five categories at the Education Choices Magazine Awards.
