A two-day event this weekend will start with a free community festival and end with a huge celebration of Caribbean and Black-British culture, for the 75th anniversary of Windrush.
Radiate Festival begins in Burgess Park on Saturday, June 24 with the Village Social, a celebration of community and culture in Britain and how migration has built that.
Saturday is free entry and will feature a live stage with music and DJs, garden games, a craft market and lots of food and drink stalls.
This is all gearing up for Windrush 75, on Sunday, June 25, which will celebrate the Windrush legacy in Britain, and how Caribbean culture has shaped generations in the UK. This event is ticketed and will include performances from acts such as Donae’O and Misha B, along with an all-day sound system. There will be food, art and a flag parade too.
