A busy weekend is coming up around the borough, with cooking demos from top chefs, country fairs and a rich variety of music for people to enjoy – and most of it is free.
Lambeth Country Show, Brockwell Park
The two-day free event will bring the countryside to Brockwell Park, with a mini farm, vegetable sculptures and live music.
There will be sheep-shearing, sheepdog and owl displays and more. Don’t miss the famous alpacas from Vauxhall City Farm. There will be lots to see, including a flower show, vegetable sculpture competition and scarecrow contest.
Live music will be heard from two stages over the weekend, including the LatinoLife stage, taking visitors on a journey through salsa, reggaetón, samba, jazz and more.
Craft beer, catering from around the world, homemade cakes and other refreshments will be on sale.

Bankside Open Spaces Festival, Borough
On Saturday, one of the biggest unticketed festivals in London will return to Bankside, featuring genre-busting live music, donkey rides and massages – all for free.
Bankside Open Spaces Festival returns on Saturday, June 10, to kick off the summer with an array of music and dance over four stages.
The one-day event will fill Bankside’s Union Street, Redcross Way, and three small parks with ‘genre-busting’ music. The line-up includes Fiesta Latina, Art Terry and the Black Bohemians, Ese & and The Voodoo People, Sister Cookie and returning headliners, Cosimo Matassa Project and The Brothers Ignatius.
You can even meet some bees, learn about early surgery from the Old Operating Theatre, grab a free massage, enjoy a spot of yoga and try a donkey ride while you’re there.
Where? Multiple locations in Bankside: Red Cross Garden, Marlborough Sports Garden, Crossbones Graveyard, Redcross Way and Union Street to Flat Iron Square.

Pub in the Park, Dulwich
Celebrity TV chef Tom Kerridge is hosting this year’s food and music festival in Dulwich Park, with performances from Tinie Tempah and Craig Charles.
Fellow TV cook Simon Rimmer will join the Masterchef star at this year’s Pub in the Park festival from June 9 to 11.
Headliners are UK rap legend Tinie Tempah and much-loved actor, funk, and soul DJ Craig Charles will take to the stage.
