Kegarmo, Maltby Street

Kegarmo is an independent boutique vegan bakery providing us with delicious vegan sweet treats. Their main aim is to provide an alternative that doesn’t use animal products but still has an incredible taste.

They cater for all occasions, big and small, and currently trade every weekend at Maltby Street Market. Surrounded by some of the best street food, Kegarmo tells us that they are “extremely proud to be a part of such an amazing group of food artists”.

Five food and drink spots to try in Bermondsey and Elephant & Castle

What about menu highlights? “It ranges from our famous vegan tiramisu to our mouth-watering banana and Biscoff cake, which is our queen! If you fancy something on the fruitier side, then people can try our refreshing apple frangipane or blueberry cheesecake – all of which are, of course, vegan. It really puts a smile on our faces when non-vegans try our products but still say they are the best they have ever tried.
“We would love to welcome you to our little independent stall to try all our sweet treats.”

They said: “We followed our minds and hearts to refine Asian cuisines with authentic herbs and spices and meat substitutes, in the hope of inspiring people to enjoy more meat-free dishes. Cutting down meat consumption one meal at a time could improve our health and help to build a greener planet.”

Plants of Roselyn, Tooley Street

As well as Buddha Taste’s pan-Asian cooking, traditional Thai cookery also incorporates plenty of plant-based dishes that we enjoy daily at home.

Plants of Roselyn on Tooley Street have preserved authentic traditions and thought up wholesome recipes without compromising on customary Thai flavours. They said: “We hope you enjoy our contemporary plant-based approach to Thai cuisine as much as we do.”
