Panutche Camará has become Charlton’s fourth summer addition after signing on loan from Ipswich ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The 26-year-old Guinea-Bissau international follows Alfie May, Lloyd Jones and Harry Isted into the building at Sparrows Lane ahead of the new season, which starts at home to Leyton Orient on 5 August.

Camara will bring versatility to the Addicks’ midfield during his season-long loan, an attribute which appeals to Valley chief Dean Holden.

The SE7 boss said: “Pan is an excellent addition as he offers us something different in the middle of the park. He’s a good ball carrier who plays with real dynamism and is equally adept in both his defensive and attacking responsibilities.

“He’s a player I’ve admired for a long time for his selfless attitude to do what’s required for the team and his willingness to leave absolutely everything out on the pitch. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

Camara’s initial season at Portman Road was disrupted by injury following his switch to Portman Road last summer from Plymouth Argyle.

He struck 10 times in 94 appearances with the Pilgrims and can’t wait to show The Valley faithful what he is capable of.

Camará said: “First of all I would like to thank Charlton for the opportunity to join this football club.

“My conversations with the manager were very good.

“He showed me the project and that’s why I signed. I can’t wait to start and meet the fans.”
