HAT-TRICK hero Ali Al-Hamadi dedicated his treble in the 4-1 Plough Lane success over Tranmere to AFC Wimbledon’s fans.

The Dons have made a promising start to the season although the Plough Lane faithful had to wait until yesterday for a first home league win.

It looked like another frustrating day may be on the cards when Connor Jennings put Tranmere ahead after just four minutes.

But Wimbledon went in at the break 2-1 to the good thanks to Armani Little’s leveller and Al-Hamadi’s first of the afternoon.

Tranmere’s day went from bad to worse in the 54th minute when Jordan Turnbull was dismissed for a foul on Isaac Ogundere.

Al-Hamadi added Wimbledon’s third just after the hour before going on to wrap up the scoring in the 88th minute as the Dons moved up to sixth in the League Two table.

The striker told afcwimbledon.co.uk: “I’m over the moon with scoring my first league hat trick.

“It’s so good to get a win at home in front of our fans. I think we could have been even better than that, but it was a performance for our fans to go home happy about.

“I don’t change anything about my routine, in the way I work throughout the week.

“Whether you’re scoring goals or not, you need to stick to the plan, stick to the process and at some point it’ll pay off.”

Al-Hamadi knows there is no time to revel in yesterday’s success as the Dons face a busy week with two games on the road.

First up is long trip to Harrogate on Tuesday before next Saturday’s encounter with promotion rivals Mansfield.

The striker said: “We’ve got a tough week now with two away games.

“As we get closer to Christmas we know how congested that fixture list gets, so everyone will need to play a part if we want to do something this season.

“The standard is so high in training though, that it’s a shame that only eleven can start.”
