QPR have appointed Marti Cifuentes as their new manager this evening following Gareth Ainsworth’s weekend dismissal.
The 41-year-old arrives from Swedish top flight outfit Hammarby and has been a coach and manager in various countries including his native Spain, Holland, Denmark and Norway.
This will not be his first spell in London having also had a brief spell working at Millwall’s academy several years ago.
QPR chief executive Lee Hoos said: “Marti is an exciting appointment and we look forward to seeing the impact he can have.
“Having a succession plan in place is a necessary part of football, irrespective of how the team are performing.
“Marti is someone we have been aware of so we are really pleased to have been able to secure his services.”
