OLIVER Glasner revealed Crystal Palace were working on two transfers that are going “okay” – amid approaches for a pair of wingers.
The Eagles have targeted Millwall’s Romain Esse and Liverpool’s Ben Doak, who is on loan at Middlesbrough, this month.
The Eagles boss preferred not to speak about specific players in his FA Cup press conference on Friday.
Glasner said: “As soon as we sign a player, we will tell you. We are working on two transfers, I don’t know how quick we will get them done. It looks okay and then I will talk about the names.
“If we can keep the squad together, we’re really pleased with how the players have developed over the last months and also how we created a team spirit again after not an easy start. No one told me he wants to leave. The players want to stay here.”
Meanwhile, Glasner says Adam Wharton is “improving” but the midfielder is unlikely to return to first-team action this month.
Wharton has been out since out since October 30 with a groin injury.
The Eagles host Stockport County in the third round on Sunday.
““He’s improving but still far away from training with the team, but it’s getting better,” Glasner said.
“I can’t tell you if it will take two weeks or three or four, but I think, in January, it is quite unlikely that he will return.”
Glasner was set to rotate his first-choice side against Stockport, who are seventh in League One, but would have been forced into some changes anyway.
Glasner confirmed Will Hughes is “questionable” to feature. He added: “We had many ill players this week, or many question marks. Until today, JP [Mateta], Maxence Lacroix and Tyrick Mitchell didn’t train. Caleb Kporha trained for the first time today, but Dean Henderson went home today, being ill.
“It can be that one or two come back tomorrow, but of course not available for starting if you’re in your bed with fever for almost the whole week – so there are still many question marks.”
