JOHNNIE Jackson revealed AFC Wimbledon’s offer to Omar Bugiel was a “big commitment” as he welcomed news the forward had signed a new two-year deal.
Bugiel, 30, has scored eleven goals in all competitions since joining on a free transfer from Sutton United last summer.
“We’ve made a big commitment to him with the offer that we made, and he’s made a big commitment to us by signing the deal and staying with us for two years,” Jackson said on the Dons’ website. “We’re really pleased to have that one wrapped up.
“We’d been speaking about it for the last few weeks, and we’d had some really good conversations. I’ve known all along that he’s wanted to be a part of what we’re doing. I’ve got a great relationship with him. We both enjoy working together and he loves being at this football club.”
Meanwhile, Wimbledon travel to Swindon Town today. The Dons have to win to have a chance of going seventh with two games left.
Jackson gave an injury update ahead of the game, with Jack Currie a doubt.
Jackson said: “Jack got a nasty whack on the nose,” Jackson said. “He did his best to play through it, but was unable to. He’s only had a bit part in training this week and he’s still pretty beaten up and sore, so we’ll have a look at the situation and see where we go with it.”
“Harry Pell is still going to be missing for the weekend with a calf injury,” said Johnnie. “He’s progressing, but running out of time as far as the season is concerned. He’ll miss out, whether we’ll have him involved for the last two games, we’ll wait and see.
“Morgan Williams (back) has done some light work on his own and with the physios and sports science boys, but he’s unable to join in any of the sessions yet.”
