Champions League team of the tournament player departs Chelsea – while duo also leave Stamford Bridge on permanent deals

IAN Maatsen has completed a £35million move from Chelsea to Aston Villa.

Maatsen, 22, spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund and helped them reach the Champions League final, where they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid at Wembley. The left-sided player was named in the team of the tournament.

Dutch international Maatsen, who is currently with his country at Euro 2024, made sixteen appearances for the Blues.

Meanwhile, winger Hakim Ziyech has completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray.

Ziyech, 31, spent last season on loan with the Turkish Super Lig side.

Chelsea said: “We thank Hakim for his efforts during his time at Chelsea and wish him well as he begins the next chapter of his career.”

Goalkeeper Jamie Cumming, 24, has joined Oxford United on a permanent deal.

Cumming made 23 appearances for the U’s last season, including the League One play-off semi-finals and final, a 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers.
