CHELSEA boss Emma Hayes reckons her side have the tougher of the games when the Women’s Super League title goes down to the wire this weekend.

After writing off the Blues’ chances of a fifth successive league crown when the Blues were beaten 4-3 by Liverpool at the start of the month, Hayes saw her side ensure it would go down to the wire when they defeat Bristol City 8-0 last weekend.

And Chelsea will go into the weekend in pole position after their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Brisbane Road on Thursday night.

Chelsea are level on 52 points with second-place Manchester City with a better goal difference of two after Maika Hamano scored the winner in the 37th minute against the FA Cup finalists.

The title race will be decided this Saturday when Chelsea visit Manchester United and City travel to Aston Villa.

“I think we’ve got the tougher of the two games,” Hayes said. “We’ve got to go to Old Trafford and it’s a fitting finale for me in my final game.

“As I said to the players, if someone gives you a second chance in life, make sure you don’t need a third one. We’re in the position we want to be in and we’ll give it everything on Saturday no matter what.”

“We have to work hard in every game in this league. You have to earn it. I’ve been saying all year the league is getting more and more competitive. It’s a great product because games are tight.

“Tottenham, on the back of a cup final, they put in a great effort, epecially in the second half. I’m really happy with our performance, especially in the first half. But we might have to do a little bit of shooting practice this week!”

Both matches on Saturday kick off at 3pm.
