EBERECHI Eze is set to be fit to start for the first time in a month when Crystal Palace travel to Fulham on Saturday.
Eze has been struggling with a foot injury and his only action since starting against Brentford on January 26 has been as a 61st-minute substitute against Manchester United and half-time substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Everton at Selhurst Park last weekend.
“It was a good week for him personally, and he’s getting better and better with his foot,” Glasner said
“I think he’s ready to start.”
“The same as last week, all players are fit, everyone trained the whole week. It’s good.”
Palace are sixteenth in the home Premier League table with only two wins from thirteen games this season. Fulham are tenth with five wins.
The Eagles and the Cottagers have almost identical away records, with five wins, four draws and three defeats. Palace are seventh, a place above Fulham, with a better goal difference of two.
“We talked about it with the players,” Glasner said about that contrast between their results. “I remember when I joined it was an issue that Crystal Palace always conceded late goals. I said okay, let’s not talk about it because then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, and this is the same. Our approach is always the same, but it does look like we make more mistakes at home.”
January signing Ben Chilwell could be up against one of Fulham’s form players, Adama Traore. Glasner, though, is wary of the threat from across Fulham’s front-line.
He said: “Both Tyrick Mitchell and Ben Chilwell have the quality to defend Adama Traore. Even with his pace and power, then he crosses, and then we have to defend the box against Raul Jimenez, Emile Smith Rowe. So it’s not just him. It’s a team effort.”
Meanwhile, Glasner marked one year in the job this week. The 50 year-old’s record stands at played 44, won nineteen, drew twelve, lost thirteen.
“I had no time to reflect on Wednesday,” Glasner said. “Wednesday is always a busy day preparing for the weekend. There was a lot to do this week and, to be honest, I’m always looking to the next game, which is more important than the anniversary.”
