Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner: Win over Liverpool has no bearing on West Ham United game

OLIVER Glasner insisted Crystal Palace are not living off the plaudits of last weekend’s win against Liverpool – stressing that has no bearing on their game against West Ham United this weekend.

Palace are still not safe from relegation and Glasner was keen to stress David Moyes’ Hammers will be a different proposition to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

“I don’t want to talk too much about the Liverpool game because it’s over,“ Glasner said in his pre-match press conference.

“It’s one week ago and it was a great win, but it doesn’t help us winning against West Ham.

“Of course, maybe regarding confidence, but what we have to do on the pitch is very important.

“I mentioned it after the game as a benchmark, but we have to be careful because we can’t always say, ‘yes, we want to play like we played against Liverpool’.

“Our opponents, they’ll do maybe different things. They don’t combine, so maybe they play with long balls, or we have the same challenges in set-plays, because Liverpool were very dangerous in set-plays. They had three, four big chances after set-plays and West Ham is also one of the best teams regarding set-plays.”

Austrian Glasner was asked how he has liked living in London.

He said: “If you asked me one hour before, I would say, ‘oh my god, what weather we have!’ But now it is sunny.

“I would say my mood changes four times a day because of the weather but the rest I really enjoy. I enjoy working with all the members here at the club ands all the players and the staff. I enjoy the Premier League and of course I enjoy London – but not the traffic.”
