Crystal Palace trio Will Hughes, Jeffrey Schlupp and Joel Ward have extended their contracts until the summer of 2025.

The Eagles have confirmed that James Tomkins and Jaïro Riedewald will leave when their contracts expire at the end of June.

Hughes, Schlupp and Ward have made a combined 672 appearances for Palace.

“In any Premier League squad, it remains vitally important to strike the right balance between youth and experience, with a squad of players all capable of driving the club forwards on and off the pitch,” Chairman Steve Parish said on the club’s website.

“As well as playing a pivotal role on the pitch, Will, Jeff and Joel are natural leaders in the dressing room who embody the Crystal Palace DNA and who help set a culture of the highest standards at the training ground. We are delighted that they will be with us next season to help further our exciting early progress under Oliver Glasner.

Tomkins joined Palace in the summer of 2016 and made 135 appearances in all competitions.

Riedewald played 95 times in all competitions after signing from Ajax in July 2017.

Parish added: “James and Jaïro have both shown superb dedication and professionalism during their long spells at the club. They have not only been important players at the heart of our recent squads, but also role models to our younger talents.

“We are grateful to them both for their contributions on and off the pitch, and I would like to personally wish them well for the next chapters in their respective careers.”

Palace are in discussions with Nathaniel Clyne and Remi Matthews over extending their deals at the club.
