ROY Hodgson has had talks with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish and is set to be in charge for their Premier League game against Sheffield United, according to a report.

Hodgson, 76, has come under increasing pressure after a run of just two wins in their last fourteen league games that has left them five points above the relegation zone.

They were also knocked out of the third round of the FA Cup by Everton after a replay.

The Eagles were trounced 5-0 against Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium at the weekend when away supporters displayed banners showing their anger and frustration at how the club is being run.

After their match against the Blades at Selhurst park next Tuesday, Palace travel to Brighton & Hove Albion for the ‘A23 derby’ the following Saturday before returning home for their London derby against Chelsea the Monday after that.

It could be a defining period for Hodgson and the club, with out-of-work managers Steve Cooper and Graham Potter linked with the job.
