‘It’s a bad one’ – Millwall boss facing striker shortage after Tom Bradshaw limps off in surprise EFL Cup defeat

MILLWALL are facing a potential striker crisis after Tom Bradshaw limped off in their 1-0 defeat to League One Leyton Orient in the second round of the EFL Cup at The Den on Tuesday night.

Bradshaw, who had come on for left-back Joe Bryan in the 64th minutes as Neil Harris’ side chased the game following Dan Agyei’s fourteenth-minute goal, went off to leave the hosts with ten men after they had made all their substitutions.

“It’s a bad one,” Harris said. “It’s his hamstring, it’s going to be a bad one.

“He’ll have to be scanned but you don’t come off like he did and get an overnight fix. I don’t want to put a timescale on it but we’re not going to see him for a period of time.”

From the match-day squad against Orient, it leaves only one out-and-out senior centre-forward in Macaulay Langstaff if Bradshaw is sidelined. Langstaff hasn’t started in the league since his summer move from Notts County.

After letting Kevin Nisbet join Aberdeen on loan this week, the Lions are desperate to add to their frontline. They have held talks with Middlesbrough for Josh Coburn, who played 90 minutes in his side’s 5-0 thumping at home to Stoke City on Tuesday.

Millwall are back in Championship action on Saturday when they host Sheffield Wednesday, hours after the transfer window closes.
