MILLWALL are edging towards landing their second signing in January after reportedly striking a deal with Burnley for Michael Obafemi.
The Lions are looking to bring the 23-year-old in on loan to boost their options are up front.
Reports this afternoon claim they have reached an “agreement in principle” with the Premier League side and Obafemi is expected to conduct medical tests this week before a deal is concluded.
If he does sign, he could make his debut against Preston North End on Saturday.
Obafemi joined Burnley on loan from Swansea City in January 2023 and scored two goals in twelve appearances last season.
But since their promotion to the top flight, he has only managed to make two appearances.
The Irishman has shown pedigree at Championship level before and netted twelve goals in 32 appearances for Swansea in the 2021-22 season, his best goal-scoring campaign to date.
He has also represented the Republic of Ireland on 11 occasions since making his debut in November 2018.
Millwall are currently without both Tom Bradshaw and Aidomo Emakhu due to injury, leaving Kevin Nisbet as their sole out-and-out striker.
The move for Obafemi comes days after the loan signing of Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham Hotspur.
