ALEX Neil said Danny McNamara and Ryan Leonard’s injuries “don’t look good”, and that they will both need a scan to know the full extent of the damage.
Leonard was withdrawn injured in the 59th minute of Millwall’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff City on Tuesday night and was replaced with McNamara.
Only four minutes later, McNamara went down clutching his knee and had to be taken off the field in a stretcher. The 26-year-old had previously missed time with a knee injury, and was making his first appearance since mid-December.
“They don’t look good, do they,” Neil said. “I think you can always tell in the manner which a player goes down. I think if they pull up or something and they sort of say, I’m not quite right, whereas the two lads literally crumbled in a heap.
“I don’t know the extent, obviously we need to get them scanned and get it done properly, but I don’t expect them to be ones that are going to be short-term, shall we say.”
