RYAN Leonard is set to be missing for a few weeks after picking up an injury issue during the international break.

The 31-year-old has an issue with a cracked bone in his knee and could be out for three to four weeks, according to manager Gary Rowett.

It’s the latest injury to hit Millwall’s back line with Shaun Hutchinson still not expected back in time for Saturday’s game.

Lions boss Rowett said: “Lenny’s going to be out for a few weeks. He’s cracked a bone in his knee and he’s just has to rest it and give it a couple weeks rest and then good to go. So he’s probably going to be three or four weeks I imagine, but I can’t be too specific.

“We have quite a significant numbers of injuries at the moment but again gives other people the opportunity.”

Hutchinson’s return is not “imminent” after he went off with a calf problem against Birmingham City at the beginning of September.

Rowett added: “I don’t think he’ll be back within the next week so he’s probably going to be another couple of weeks, I’d imagine. He’s making good progress but just fell short a little bit.”

Duncan Watmore and Kevin Nisbet both picked up hamstring issues before the international break.

On Watmore, the Millwall manager said: “We’ve scanned it and looked at it and it’s probably going to be a good few weeks, two or three weeks, before he’s back. He felt it in the Plymouth game, he just felt it in the warm-up against Hull and the Friday before the Hull game.

“It was one where we just hoped he could get through it really. He then scored, celebrated and slipped on the matting on the side and irritated it a little bit more. He obviously had an issue there previously and we’re hoping that will settle down over the next few weeks.”

And on Nisbet, Rowett said: “Nizzy’s going to be two or three as well I think.”

Millwall’s next match is against Preston North End this Saturday.
