ANTHONY Patterson is reportedly for sale after impressing on loan at Millwall.
The Sunderland goalkeeper spent the latter half of the season at SE16 and made sixteen starts, keeping seven clean sheets as the Lions came within a point of automatic promotion.
The 26-year-old started both legs of Millwall’s play-off semi-final against Hull City, with the Lions ultimately suffering heartbreak at The Den as they lost the second leg 2-0 to the eventual Wembley winners.
Patterson was Sunderland’s first-choice goalkeeper in the Championship and started the 2025 play-off final to help the Black Cats defeat Sheffield United 2-1. But he lost his place to Robin Roefs following promotion to the Premier League and could now be on the move, with Sky Sports reporting that Sunderland have placed an £8-10 million valuation on the shotstopper.
Patterson reportedly has two years left on his contract.
The Lions’ goalkeeping department currently includes Max Crocombe and Lukas Jensen, the latter who missed all of last season through injury, while the club are also in negotiations with Joel Coleman.
