QPR have confirmed they won’t be extending Leon Balogun’s stay at Loftus Road with the veteran defender poised to rejoin Glasgow Rangers.
Balogun spent a season with the Hoops after signing from the Ibrox outfit last summer in a one-year deal.
He became a free agent in the close season but continued his recovery from a hamstring injury at the Championship club before joining the Hoops’ pre-season training camp in Austria.
However, he now looks set to link up again with current Glasgow Rangers manager Michael Beale at the SPL giants, the same boss who snapped him for QPR a year ago.
Balogun posted on social media: “Thank you to everyone at QPR – the staff, the players and you the supporters.
“Despite everything that has happened throughout this very difficult season, I’ve really enjoyed my time at the club.
“I’m wishing you nothing but the best for the future you Rsss.”
Earlier this week it was revealed QPR majority shareholder Tony Fernandes was selling up and ending his 12-year spell at the club to concentrate on other business interests.
Fernandes said: “My involvement with QPR has been an incredible period of highs and lows.
“Outside of family, I have experienced some of the most enjoyable moments of my life thanks to QPR.
“I am a passionate person and that means the good times have meant so much but, equally, the tough times have hurt.
“The decision to step away is made with a heavy heart.
“I would like to thank the supporters who I have experienced the last decade of adventures with. I will continue to look out for QPR’s results and wish the board nothing but success for the future.”
