Queens Park Rangers set to net major windfall after Arsenal sensationally hijack Spurs’ move for Crystal Palace star Eze

QUEENS Park Rangers are set to bank over £6million from Eberechi Eze’s move from Crystal Palace to Arsenal.

England international Eze, 27, is close to joining the Gunners for a fee of up to £67.5million.

It came after Tottenham Hotspur were reported to have verbally agreed a deal for Eze, only for their North London rivals to sensationally swoop after an injury to attacker Kai Havertz.

The Independent have reported that Arsenal had agreed a deal in principle with the Eagles on August 10, before finally moving on it this week after the Havertz news.

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Palace of £60million plus £7.5million in add-ons.

Palace signed Eze from the Hoops for £17million in 2020. It represents a profit of £43million for Palace, and means a windfall for the Championship side.

The Independent have also reported QPR agreed a sell-on of 15 per cent with Palace. That would net them a cash injection of £6.45million.

Eze joined QPR in 2016 after he wasn’t offered a professional deal by Millwall.

It completes a circle for Eze, who was released from Arsenal’s academy in 2011 before spells in the youth set-ups at Fulham and Reading.
