FULHAM look set to be without Issa Diop in Monday’s London derby at Tottenham.
The defender hasn’t been able to shake off the foot injury which saw him replaced in the second half of the 3-1 victory over Sheffield United a fortnight ago,
That means Diop will miss the short trip to Spurs along with Adama Traore, Tosin Adarabioyo and Kenny Tete.
Manager Marco Silva confirmed: “Adama, Kenny Tete and Tosin are still out, plus Issa Diop.
“As you know, last game he got an injury.
“We are assessing him.
“Let’s see how things go in the next few days, but he’s going to be out of the game.”
Fulham may well boast numerous internationals in their ranks, but Silva was still able to do some good work on the training ground with those left behind as the Whites look to build on that Sheffield United win.
He said: “We had a very important result beforehand and then had nine senior players stay here.
“It has been a good moment to keep our shape, improve our physical condition and work hard.”
With the Spurs game taking place on Monday, it at least means Silva has a bit more time with all his squad following the international break.
He explained: “There are no injuries for the players that went away with their national teams.
“Two of them just trained this morning – we will keep assessing them to see how they are, but they look in a good shape.
“Some had some long journeys.
“It’s not easy with some players in America, not just Tim Ream and Raúl in that area, even Bernd Leno was with his national team in America.
“But we are assessing them and let’s see in the next few days.
“We have more some days to prepare the game.”
Tottenham are flying high at the top of the Premier League and will be strong favourites at home to their London neighbours.
However, Fulham have already dumped Ange Postecoglou’s side out of the League Cup on penalties, not that Silva is reading anything into that.
The Whites boss said: “Each game is different and this is a different competition.
“They are in an even better moment than they were in that period.
“The ambition and motivation from our team is to try and get three points”
Silva added: “It will be tough playing there and it is a great challenge for us.
“When you play at teams with their quality, it demands really hard work, very good organisation and then to have belief and courage to play our way.”
